Description

Jules SOURY (1842-1915), philosopher and historian of neuroscience at the Sorbonne, theorist of racism and anti-Semitism. Autograph letter signed to Eugène Fasquelle. 1 p. in-8. October 4, 1904. Violent anti-Semitic diatribe against Dreyfus. "All my previous public statements remain invariable. My conclusion is and always will be the same: twelve firing squad bullets for the Jewish traitor Alfred Dreyfus. One would have to be even more foul, if possible, than this Jew, to admit, for a single moment, that the two Councils of War in Paris and Rennes, which condemned him, and all the Ministers of War who rightly declared him guilty, could ever have erred. I repeat therefore, and this is a text ne varietur: pardoned or rehabilitated, the Jewish traitor Dreyfus will remain in history, for all centuries, Dreyfus the Traitor". With an autograph sending card. "I believe it is a courtesy to you [...] to send you, my principal publisher, a copy of my political will on the affair you were pleased to speak to me about this morning, a copy of which is in the hands of my great friend General Mercier [...]".
