Sagito is known as a mysterious artist and uses realistic painting techniques to make surrealistic images which often rooted in the metaphysical notions of Javanese mysticism. In this work, the main figures appear all illogically - as human bodies and at the same as puppets. Parts of the bodies are replace by the wayang puppets or masks. The figures in the beautiful blue sky background are painted repeatedly and depicted in shifting poses. All these echo the title of the work, which means ‘the Self in Puppet Reflection’
