London, Thomas McLean (Howlett & Brimmer, Columbian Press), 1823. In-folio (35.5 x 26 cm) of 45 ff. n. ch., plum long-grained morocco, wide gilt and cold-rolled bands framing the boards, spine with 4 false nerves, gilt title, fine inner border, gilt edges (English binding of the period). Second edition of this rare suite of 32 aquatint-engraved plates by James Godby after drawings by van Lerberghi (picturesque scenes) + one music plate. The plates still bear Edward Orme's address and the date 1806, and may be a first edition. Explanatory text by Buonaiuti in English and French. Restorations, edges rubbed, first few pages partially detached, otherwise a fine copy in contemporary English binding. (For the first edition: Brunet, II, col. 1639; Colas, no. 2970).
