Violin by Claude Augustin MIREMONT (1827 - 1887) made in Paris around 1865. A rare and interesting example made under the inspiration of Jean Baptiste GUADAGNINI in Turin, for which it bears an apocryphal label with the year 1860. One-piece maple back, two-piece spruce top, maple headstock, orange-brown varnish on gold background. 359 mm Accompanied by a dendrological analysis by Patrick Gassmann and a certificate of authenticity from Maison Boyer. condition: Good condition, restorations on the table, no breaks. Note: Claude Augustin Miremont, born in 1812 in Mirecourt, France, was a renowned luthier of the 19th century. His aesthetically beautiful, rich-sounding instruments are today benchmarks of French lutherie excellence.
