Sunil Das was born in Calcutta on August 4, 1939 and died on August 10, 2015 at the age of 75. He was an Indian expressionist painter specializing in depictions of horses and bulls, male-female relationships and women in their sexual emancipation and solitude. He was a founding member of the Society of Contemporary Indian Artists.
