ILLUM WIKKELSO (Denmark, 1919 - 1999) for RYESBERG FURNITURE. 3-seater sofa. Upholstery in brown patinated leather. Manufactured by Ryesberg Furniture. Shows signs of use and age. Measurements: 74 x 240 x 82 cm. Seat height 43 cm. Spacious three-seater armchair designed by Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by Ryesberg Furniture, characterized by a structure reduced to its essence entirely upholstered in brown patinated leather. It stands on tubular legs with a circular base that add lightness to the structure. Illum Wikkelsø was one of the most renowned Danish designers, despite being one of the least known. It is known that he graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen, and that he worked for Jacob Kjaer and for the architectural firm of Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard-Nielso, where he left his mark on Danish furniture design, which came to spread around the world.
