Renaissance Bargueño, XVI century. In walnut. The foot is from a later period. Measurements: 64,5 x 116 x 49 cm. (bargueño); 72 x 94,5 x 51,5 cm. (stand). Renaissance bargueño of the XVI century, in walnut wood. It stands out for the quality of the carving of the Bacchic theme that develops in the reliefs of each of the drawers. These are protected by a hinged lid with smooth decoration and ironwork. The keyhole shield is decorated with vegetal motifs. The interior sample consists of three main registers and four lanes. The lower register has recessed compartments that alternate drawers with larger compartments. The figures carved on the front of each drawer represent satyrs, sylenes and fauns, among other mythological creatures linked to Dionysus. Also, two centaurs are represented, respectively, in two drawers in the lateral corners. It is probably a piece of furniture of Italian manufacture. It stands on a foot of a later period, made of carved wood, with central arches, following an architectural structure.
