ADELAÏDE MAETERLINCK-LEFÈBVRE (1860 - 1940). "Poisson", ca. 1930. Sculpture in patinated bronze on black marble base. Signed: A. LEFEBVRE. Measurements: 36 x 50 x 12 cm. Belgian sculptor, wife of Louis Maeterlinck, painter and curator of the Museum of Ghent, where a portrait of her by her husband is preserved. She was creator of elegant sculptures in baked clay, betting in her production for the feminine nude, which earned her the rejection, at the end of the XIX century, on the part of the jury in an exhibition of young artists of the city of Ghent, alleging the indecency of her creations.
