VALMORE GEMIGNANI (1878 - 1956). Table clock-lamp, ca. 1905. Patinated terracotta. Signed: V. GEMIGNANI. Some pitting on the base. Measurements: 90 x 37 x 35 cm. Table clock adapted to lamp. In its center, a couple of fishermen hoists a starfish that serves as a clock case, while, behind the sculptural group, stands a mast at the top of which is the light of the lamp. The piece, possibly made in Vienna, follows similar models of the manufacture of Friedrich Goldscheider, whose production enjoyed great success in the late nineteenth century thanks to the collaboration with different artists, as is the case of Gemignani himself.
