Rare engraved and gilded shrine in champlevé copper with blue, red, white and turquoise enamels. Rectangular in shape, the lid is in the form of a gabled roof with an openwork gallery at the ridge. Decorated with busts of angels in circular reserves and large symmetrical soft foliage. A RARE GROUP OF THREE GILT-BRONZE TEA OR WINE POTS China, Qianlong to Jiaqing period L. 11 - 11,4 cm The globular vessel rise from a recessed base to a short, upright rim, and is set with a curved spout and a loop handle, both in the for of branchen. One is covered with cloisonné decoration of lotos on a white ground, the second with champlevé decoration of lotos and scrolling foliage, the third is decoarted with the leaves in champlevé enamels on a blossom punched giltground with grapes in relief. All three with squirrels near the spout and on the handles. The cloisonné and the lotos champlevé teapots were preserved in the collection of Gustav Detring (1842-1913) and Constantin von Hanneken (1854-1925), and have been purchased in China prior 1919, by descent to a family member. The gilt-ground and champlevé decorated teapot from a South german private collection, preserved since the 1950's in the collection of the family - A similar gilt-bronze teapot and cover with champlevé decoration is published by Roger Keverne, 'Fine and Rare Chinese Works of Art and Ceramics', London, Summer Exhibition 12.6.2003, no. 21 where he mentioned that this subject is more commonly found in Zisha pottery but very rare in enamel and gilt-bronze - Few small losses to enamel, minor traces of age

He wears a crown over a headdress with straight locks falling to the nape of his neck, glass eyes, bent left leg and divergent feet resting on a drawn suppedaneum.
