A large Russian icon showing the life of Saint Yulitta and her son Kirik, Vetka, 2nd half of the 19th century Wooden panel with two sponki on the reverse. Tempera on chalk ground, gilded background. The edge decorated with engraved flowers. Depiction of Julitta and Kirik surrounded by twelve panels from their lives and martyrdom. Six saints appear in the margin: Tikhon, Cyril, Stefan, Yuliana, Efimia and Stefania. Two vertical tears restored, curved without corner, wormhole. Dimensions 52 x 44.5 x 3.2 cm. Condition: III

Certificate on the reverse "It is a reproduction of an old Byzantine icon, which was chosen from the classical and particularly characteristic examples of Byzantine icon painting. It was worked on canvas, wood and gold ground with the greatest possible fidelity to the original." Note on the reverse regarding the reproduced original "The Mother of God of the Passion" (Athens, Byzantine Museum, 19 x 15 cm).
