Lithography with contemporary watercolor. 312x480 mm. Glued on backing cardboard. Extremely rare and magnificent view of the city taken from the Ilha das Cobras, with sailing ships plying the Bay of Guanabara. In brilliant contemporary coloring. Philippe Benoist collaborated with the painter Eugene Ciceri to produce spectacular colored lithographs, taken from daguerreotypes, published in Paris by Lemercier around the middle of the 19th century.

Important large poster, published by the 'Secrétariat Général de l'Information', printed using the colors of the French flag: the speech in which the Marshal announced the suspension of political parties and the suppression of the parliamentary allowance is presented. The portrait of Petain is the work of Roland Coulon, 1897-1954, painter, draftsman, engraver, illustrator and poster designer of French cinema. A collaborationist, he was head of the artistic services of the General Secretariat of Information of the Vichy regime.
