Two small molded porcelain snuffboxes with erotic decor, China, 19th century Escutcheon-shaped, with turquoise-enameled bottoms, they are finely molded and enameled in the famille rose style in panels of erotic scenes showing couples in richly furnished interiors. The shoulders bear masks of dog heads and the neck a frieze of molded lingzhi heads and small gold-enameled flowers. The feet are very slightly convex and bear an apocryphal four-character Qianlong mark in zhuanshu. Glass stoppers. Height: 4.2 cm A small chip on one foot and a slight firing defect.
