Telescope fan; China, Qing dynasty, Canton, c. 1850. Lacquered and gilded wood with wallpaper country and silk appliques. It shows wear. Measurements: 24 x 45 cm. This type of fans are characterized by the paper country, hand painted, with large scenes set in gardens, inspired by the ancient Chinese court. Usually a palette similar to that of porcelain predominates, as we see in the piece we are dealing with. It shows wear and tear.
