Eliezer and Rebecca at the well, Europe, circa 1730-1740 Folded fan, the paper-lined skin sheet painted with gouache of Eliezer addressing Rebecca drawing water at the well, with companions. The upper border is decorated with miniature landscapes and blue and white porcelain in the Chinese style. The reverse is probably painted with Alexander the Great and his architect Dinocrates in front of the plan of the city that would bear his name. The ivory throat (elephantidae spp), finely worked, reperced, carved and engraved. White mother-of-pearl plumes engraved with flowers, fruit, shells, musical trophies and a young woman. (Wear, accidents, restorations). Total height: 28.2 cm; closed height: 6.7 cm Weight: 75 g. In a blue velvet-covered case with "AC" engraving. *Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore compliant with EC regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-Wmc, and prior to July 1, 1975 and therefore compliant with the French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022.
