Description

Sigfrido "Sigi" PINEDA (1929 - 2018)* -Mexico Openwork sterling silver (925 thousandths) bangle bracelet with point movement finished with a baroque pearl, probably cultured. Wrist circumference: approx. 16 cm (small wrist) Gross weight: 43.1 g. A designer of modernist jewelry, Sigi Pineda worked in the Los Castillo workshop, particularly with Antonio, and then with Margot de Taxco, where he learned the art of enameling. He opened his own workshop at the age of 23, but rather than focusing on traditional aesthetics, he chose the modernist path. It was the 1950s, and this choice of streamlined jewelry would be his style to the end.
