RENÉ BOIVIN after SUZANNE BELPERRON Pair of 18K (750) white gold and platinum brooch clips featuring two ribbons set with calibrated and round old-cut diamonds, "S" model. Unsigned. French work of the 1940s. Preserved in its shaped case with brooch system. Dimensions: approx. 5 x 2.5 cm (each clip). Gross weight: 48.8 g (including system seal). The clips are accompanied by a Boivin certificate of authenticity (2024) attesting: original creation by René Boivin in May 1943 from a design by Suzanne Belperron.

RENÉ BOIVIN - YEARS 1933-1938 TWO SHELL CLIPS The two clips depict a curved and striated shell in vermeil. Master stamp of René BOIVIN for one of the two. Gross weight: 37.78 g (one in vermeil, one in metal with different decoration on the back). Dimensions: approx. 4.6 x 3.7 cm and 4.6 x 3.4 cm. Both clips are accompanied by a notice from Jean-Norbert SALIT. THE DIVINE MARINE WORLD OF SUZANNE BELPERRON AND JULIETTE MOUTARD In the early 1930s, Suzanne Belperron designed a series of jewels, often in vermeil, inspired by various shells. This theme was taken up by Juliette Moutard, who skilfully interpreted fish, shells, ammonites and starfish in jewelry that has become mythical. One of the significant features of these works is their use of less precious materials: hard stones, rock crystal, exotic woods, silver or vermeil. This elevates craftsmanship to the status of a work of art: it is no longer the rarity of the gem material that determines the price, only the style.
