CURIOSITY ARTISANAL MECHANICAL DIORAMA - France (1) "Caesar, Cleopatra and the Battle of Alexandria (48-47 BC)". Unique piece, signed "J. Deloncle", produced in April-May 2009. Made in the form of a varnished metal tray (35 x 25 cm) on which Julius Caesar's centurions and the forces of the Lagid kingdom clash, 29 figures in all, including Caesar and Cleopatra. The mechanism, concealed under the box, is provided by a movement of pulleys and cables controlled by a spring motor with key. Works. It's just like being there!
