GEORGES BASTARD (1881-1939) Evocation of Asia, unique piece Miniature baluster covered pot evoking a Chinese vase. The base in carved and modeled brown horn; the lid in carved and shaded ivory, the grip also in ivory. Circa 1930. The seed may have been glued back. Signed G. BASTARD and monogrammed G.T. under the base. Height: 7.5cm Provenance: Private collection, Paris: Private collection, Paris. This work has remained in the current owner's family for several generations. Bibliography and related works: Art et Décoration - N°8 de1937. A miniature covered pot similar to our work reproduced on page 239. This work is accompanied by a CITES certificate (valid in the EU).
