DAUM NANCY & LYONNAIS WORK FROM THE 1930S Bandes verticales en ressaut, presented on June 12, 1938 to the director of an important Lyonnais company for his retirement. Exceptional set, known as Complet, originally matched and composed of: - A spectacular cornet vase resting on a square, domed base with truncated angles. Proof in thick brown smoked glass; the title decoration is deeply acid-etched on a frosted ground. Signed DAUM Nancy France with the Cross of Lorraine, in intaglio on one side of the base. Height: 50.5cm - A square-section column in Macassar ebony veneer; the top has a central recess to receive the vase. The shaft receives the title decoration, in a declination of the vase, protruding on all four sides. The square base, with truncated corners in a variation of the vase base, is in blackened wood veneer. Possibly commissioned by André Sornay or Christian Krass. Small chips and missing parts on the base. Bears the metal cartouche at the top with the date June 12, 1938. Height: 116cm Base: 44.5 x 44.5cm Overall height: 166.5cm
