Fernand PIET (1869-1942). The Breton Women's Market. Oil on panel. Signed lower right. Dimensions : 60 x 81 cm. Provenance: Estate of Monsieur Louis Thirion, furniture from the private mansion built in 1923 by Gibert et Ogé, which has remained in the family ever since. Fernand Piet (1869-1942) was a French painter, lithographer and draughtsman who lived in Paris at the turn of the century and during the Belle Époque. He is associated with such eminent artists of the period as Bonnat, Cormon, Meissonier, Rochegrosse and Breton.
