Jeanne SELMERSHEIM-DESGRANGES (1877-1958). Bouquet of flowers. Oil on canvas. Signed lower left. Dimensions : 30 x 26 cm. Provenance: Estate of Monsieur Louis Thirion, furniture from the private mansion built in 1923 by Gibert et Ogé, which has remained in the family ever since. Jeanne Selmersheim-Desgrange (1877-1958) was a French neo-impressionist painter known for her use of the artistic technique of pointillism, her main themes being flowers and gardens. Selmersheim-Desgrange began her career as a jewelry designer, then turned to painting. She regularly exhibits her work at the Société des Artistes Indépendants and takes part in various Paris exhibitions devoted to post-impressionism.
