Gilded and cast iron standard eagle of the regulation model for cavalry standards. The eagle rests on a rectangular box bearing the inscription "Garde Impériale" on the front and "Guides" on the reverse. Round socket. Height : 32 cm T.B.E. Second Empire period. History: This eagle was made for the hall of honor of the Guides regiment. It is not the official standard model, but an overmolded example, most likely commissioned by Colonel Fleury. Provenance : Glain Collection, 3rd sale, Angers.
