He has obtained permission from the Préfet de Police to place palisades along the outer wall. "Now I need permission from M. de Préfet de Paris to plant within the enclosure of these palisades. I'm going to pretend I've already got it, because the time for planting has come. I have no doubt that Mr. Préfet will continue his kindness. To complete the City's work on my little boulevard, I still have to give the barriers two coats of paint. I recommend myself to Monsieur de Fresnes [Secretary General of the Prefecture] for the completion of this great work"... June 2, 1827.
