Description

APOLLINAIRE Guillaume (1880 - 1918) L.A.S. "G. Apollinaire", January 20, 1918, to Alfred MORTIER; 1 page in-8, address on verso with stamp from the Hôpital complémentaire militaire de la Villa Molière. He is in the military hospital, overcome by pulmonary congestion. Mortier's letter amused him: "You were amused by my remarks. I shall make use of your information when I combine this little study with others in a volume". He was to discuss Mortier's Dramaturgie de Paris "in a review at Frick. He knows which one. I am grounded in theatrical art not only by the noise raised around my play [Les Mamelles de Tirésias], but above all by the important chapter of my Poète assassiné entitled dramaturgie. Incidentally, if I had foreseen your book, and how much we basically agree, I would have dedicated to you Les Mamelles de Tirésias, which will be published these days. Without having attended a performance of this play, you will speak of it briefly and very well"... He will gladly talk about Dramaturgie in Frick's magazine. "We need to put together a manual of good language. Do you remember?
