ROSSINI Gioacchino (1792 - 1868) L.A.S. "Rossini", Passy de Paris September 25, 1864, to Marquis Domenico CAPRANICA, "Celebre Compositore Dilettante di Musica"; 1 page in-4, addressed (2 small stains); in Italian. He will not let Capranica's nephew leave for Rome without these few lines. He hopes the Marquis will be in better health, and that a speedy recovery will give him time to devote to music ("ad'occuparsi un po di musica"). For his part, he writes music to kill time, as they say ("vado scrivere chi ando musica per tuer les temps comme si vuol dire"). He hopes, if he's still around when the Marquis next visits Paris, so eagerly awaited, to use his indulgence to hear one of his compositions ("mettere a contribuzione la di lei indulgenza per sentirme qualche brano")...
