Mercury-gilt bronze case with an imposing plinth structure supported by ante-million feet. Elevated by a pedestal, decorated in the shells by laurel wreaths and at the corners by eagles, stands the sculptural group depicting a tablecloth table, within which the clock is concealed, and on which rests a Louis Philippe in institutional dress. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, steel Lepine hands, movement with anchor escapement, silk wire suspension, hour and half-hour chime on bell. H. 44 cm, W. 30 cm, D. 12 cm.
