From the l'HIRONDELLE yacht owned by Emperor NAPOLÉON III and Empress EUGÉNIE Silver-plated metal water pot, the base molded with fillets, the body plain and broadly curved. Handle with acanthus leaf scrolls. The body is engraved with the large French imperial arms of the Second Empire and the inscription L'HIRONDELLE. CHRISTOFLE silversmith (CHRISTOFLE hallmarks and number). Parisian work circa 1865. Height : 24 cm The lower part of the handle needs re-soldering, a bump on the body.
