CHOCOLATIERE in silver, MARSEILLE 1740 by Claude HOUASSE received in 1722. Baluster-shaped, resting on three double-slipper feet with ovoid attachments underlined by a double fillet, the plain body is later engraved with the arms of a Provencal family, possibly the JARENTE or the ANDRÉ, the latter of which produced a Marseille alderman in 1702-1703, Jean-Baptiste André. The spout has a plain base and a hinged cover. The doucine lid features a terrace bordered with concentric fillets, topped by a spinning top knob fixed on a pivoting gadrooned disk. Natural wood handle (small dents). Pds. 592 g. Height: 22 cm.
