Three handwritten letters: - Autograph handwritten letter signed by Sainte-Beuve dated March 19, 1862(?) dealing with Jean-Baptiste Biot. In this letter, the author responds to a letter from Mr. Biot's daughter, Blanche Sainte-Foy Biot. In it, he justifies his sources and the positive reception of the articles by Mr. Biot's acquaintances. - Copy of the handwritten letter addressed to Charles-Augustin Sainte-Beuve (1804-1869) by Blanche Sainte FOY BIOT (1799-1866). Blanche Sainte Foy Biot has transcribed her letter to literary critic Sainte-Beuve. In it, she expresses her dissatisfaction with the articles about her father, Mr. Jean-Baptiste Biot, and points out several discrepancies. Mr. Biot (1774-1862) was a French physicist, astronomer and mathematician, who pioneered the use of polarized light to study solutions. - Handwritten letter signed by Mme Blanche Sainte Foy Biot addressed to her son, probably Charles Millevière, dated March 186(?). In this letter, Mme Blanche Sainte Foy informs her son that she has sent his letter to Sainte-Beuve, and encloses a copy. Enclosed: C.-A. SAINTE-BEUVE, Nouveaux Lundi.
