Collection of Koranic prayers by Abdolhamid al-Sharif Ink, polychrome pigments and gold on paper, bound in stamped brown leather Iran, 1262 AH / 1846 AD 20.5 x 13.7 cm This illuminated manuscript, written in fine black and red naskh calligraphy with 11 lines per page and framed in gold, is a compilation of Qur'anic prayers. The manuscript opens with a mandorla and a poetic text, followed by the opening bifolio, richly illuminated with a Sarlow frontispiece featuring mandorla motifs with abundant floral decoration, as well as margins with gilded vegetal decoration and polychrome touches. The brown leather binding is adorned with vegetal decoration in stamped mandorles. (Wear to binding, pages detached).
