Collection of Koranic prayers by Abdolhamid al-Sharif Ink, polychrome pigments and gold on paper, bound in stamped brown leather Iran, 1262 AH / 1846 AD 20.5 x 13.7 cm This illuminated manuscript, written in fine black and red naskh calligraphy with 11 lines per page and framed in gold, is a compilation of Qur'anic prayers. The manuscript opens with a mandorla and a poetic text, followed by the opening bifolio, richly illuminated with a Sarlow frontispiece featuring mandorla motifs with abundant floral decoration, as well as margins with gilded vegetal decoration and polychrome touches.
