Description

JAGUAR MK2 3.4 O/D, 1961. Chassis: 178987DN Engine: KH 8677-8 Registration: 7356 RH 64 First registration: 1961 Mileage (not guaranteed): 33,185 km Vehicle in original condition with good mechanical working order, in need of repair. Normal registration In the same collection since 1979 4-speed manual gearbox + OverDrive Sunroof (in sheet metal) Stainless steel line Spoked wheels Steering wheel to change 3.8L grille badge (3.4L ENGINE) Presentation: Introduced in the late 1960s, the Jaguar Mark2 created the iconic image of a sports sedan for those who prefer the driver's seat. What's still striking today is the undiminished charisma of an exceptional automobile, with its curvaceous, chrome-accented styling and warmly English interior adorned with noble materials. The XK powertrain and its racing heritage are the icing on the cake of a bewitching-sounding car that retained the title of the world's fastest sedan for several years! This Mark2 comes in an elegant shade of English green, with a beige leather interior. Fitted with a rare steel sunroof (an extremely costly option when the car was new) and a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive for relaxed freeway cruising, it starts and drives well. However, a major overhaul is called for to drive serenely. The paintwork has been restored and the car is in generally good condition. The interior is in used condition and needs some attention, including replacement of the bakelite steering wheel. Fortunately, replacement options are plentiful. At the time of its release, it was at the wheel of this car that banks were robbed in style! Jaguar Mark2s were considered an excellent getaway car, capable of merging into traffic and overtaking most police cars. This Mark2 has a few shortcomings that will need to be improved over time to give it the lustre it deserves, but you won't need to "rob a bank" to finance it.
