Guy Lefèvre (French, 1933-2018) for Maison Jansen Small coffee table in chrome-plated steel and brass, rectangular shape with two smoked glass tops. Four square-section legs. Height 47 Width 70 Depth 50 cm. (scratches, minor oxidation) Provenance: Princess Radziwill's apartment decorated by Maison Jansen, avenue Foch, Paris. Guy Lefèvre for Maison Jansen. A small rectangular chrome-plated steel and brass coffee table. Two smoked glass tops. Bespoke piece of furniture for the Parisian apartment of Princess Radziwill. This table was designed by Guy Lefèvre for Maison Jansen. In contrast to the mass-market versions produced in Italy, the quality of the materials and workmanship is exceptional. It was produced by the ateliers de la rue Saint-Sabin, under the direction of Monsieur Léon and his companions Cordier JP, in charge of the bronze and metal and lighting workshop. They carried out the mounting and chasing. Gilding and chroming, however, were subcontracted to neighboring Bettancourt, due to the volume of baths required for this work.
