Description

Jansen House Louis XV salon table and pair of armchairs in molded, carved and lacquered wood. The square table with rounded corners features a top covered in beige leather decorated with small irons. The curved belt rests on four curved legs ending in scrolls, topped by a leaf. The cabriolet-backed armchairs, with cuffed armrests resting on moving supports, stand on four cambered legs terminating in scrolls. Beige leather upholstery. Table: Height 76.5 Long. 80 Depth 80 cm. Armchairs: Height 86.5 Width 53 Depth 59 cm. (leather upholstery damaged, small accidents). Provenance: Princess Radziwill's apartment decorated by Maison Jansen, avenue Foch, Paris. Maison Jansen. A Louis XV style lacquered wood and beige leather coffee table and pair of armchairs. Bespoke pieces of furniture for the Parisian apartment of Princess Radziwill. This set was made by the Jansen workshops on rue Saint-Sabin in Paris, under the direction of Monsieur Chastagnol for the cabinetmaking workshop, Monsieur Fumo for lacquerwork and Monsieur Cordelier for the tapestry workshop.
