Work from Strasbourg, Louis XVI period Cylinder desk in cherry, plum and sycamore veneer, decorated with an inlay of cubes and a doucine decorated with foliage. The cylinder mechanism is decorated with a central medallion of quivers and doves. It reveals four drawers surrounding a niche. The top is upholstered in black morocco. The belt includes four drawers in front. Four sheath feet. Gilded bronzes for the drawer handles and mobile grips. Height 106.5 Long 102.5 Depth 50 cm. (missing and lifted veneer). Provenance: collection of the Niermans family, architects and Grand Prix de Rome, Touraine. Strasbourg, Louis XVI Period. An ormolu-mounted cherry, plum and sycamore wood cylinder desk.
