Men's portrait of the economic miracle Expressive portrait of a corpulent older gentleman in a suit and tie, hands clasped in front of his chest, holding a cigar in his right hand, the portrayed man is self-confidently staging himself as the patriarch of the economic miracle and rising prosperity after the Second World War. In terms of physiognomy and cigar, there is an obvious allusion to the Minister of Economics and second Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany - Ludwig Erhard, who is still regarded by the public today as the inventor of the "free market economy", oil on canvas and stretcher, mid-20th century, Canvas relined and restored, unframed, rebate dimensions approx. 81 x 70.5 cm.
