Map of the world by Peter van den Keere (1570-1630), copper engraving. Representation of the then known world. Inscribed in the printing plate "Petrus Kaerius Caelavit" (from Latin 'caelare' to carve, cut, scratch - he engraved). Adhesive label with owner's note on the verso. Slight foxing due to age, several folds. Torn at centre left, along the fold. Print plate 15.5 x 19 cm. Glass, frame 21.5 x 21.5 cm.
