1653. MANUSCRIPT: (CONCESSION OF TITLE-FELIPE IV). CONCESSION OF THE TITLE OF NOBLEMAN IN THE PERSON OF VICENTE MUT, MILITARY CITIZEN, OF THE KING OF MALLORCA AND SERGEANT MAJOR AND ENGINEER OF THE ROYAL FORTIFICATIONS OF THAT KING. Manuscript document on parchment, in 4º mayor. 4 h. The first leaf highly decorated with floral border and NSO crimped and in the last the corresponding signatures, including that of the monarch Philip IV 'I the king'. Enc. on period stiff parchment, with remains of silk ribbons and although it has the lead box for the wax seal, this has not been preserved. Title written in Latin, given and signed in Madrid in 1653 by the king. The upper inner corner of the whole document shows loss. Vicenç Mut is one of the most outstanding Balearic of his time, he got a doctorate in law and obtained the rank of sergeant major, he stood out in military engineering and for that reason he received the order to take care of the royal fortifications of the island of Majorca. He also excelled in astronomy, mathematics and history.
