Edouard GILLES (1868-1895). PAIR OF earthenware kerosene LAMPS with lustrous relief decoration of a winged dragon mounted in brass, Napoleon III period. Monogrammed EG below with model number 58. Engraved glass globes (differences). H: 78 cm. Faïencier d'Art, Edouard GILLES trained as a porcelain painter. He was head of Collinot's workshop before settling in Paris in 1868. His workshop was located at 2bis boulevard Jourdan, and he began producing artistic earthenware in the 1880s.
