RARE SEATED GANESHA Bronze with silver and copper inlays India , 18th to 19th century Dimensions: Height 8 cm Wide 6 cm Depth 4 cm Weight: 411 grams Ganesha seated on a round base with small flower decorations and his vehicle or vahana the mouse crouching underneath him. Ganesha's has a pear-shaped body with big belly, a garland is draping from his knees, a belt tied around his belly and the sacred thread running along his torso. Ganesha is wearing anklets, armlets and bracelets and multiple necklaces. He has four hands, two are raised at the back holding a mace and a conch shell, both have a curved shape with decorative pattern, giving him a stylized look. Two hands in the front are holding his borken tusk and a ball of sweet laddu, he is reaching for the sweet with his trunk. Ganesha is wearing a conical, patterned crown, his hair is done up nicely at the back. The statue is hollow.
