CHRISTOPHE LABARDE (b. 1961) Milena, trapeziste, one-of-a-kind piece signed on the back by the artist, made in Germany at WhiteWall Laboratories (World's Best Photo Lab 2024, TIPA World Award 2024) Print on Fuji Crystal Archive glossy professional paper, 70 x 70 cm without margin (Exterior dimensions: 70 x 70) Photo print in Plexiglas (2 mm acrylic glass, glossy), Mounted on 3 mm Dibond, Wall mountings included. Milena, 5, lives in New York with her family. When her parents took her to the circus for the first time fascinated by the trapeze acts. Ever since, much to her parents' dismay, she's talked of nothing but circuses and acrobatics. Her older sister Lara and her parents have tried to dissuade her, but to no avail: her passion has become an obsession, and Milena seems determined to become a trapeze artist. Despite her young age, she spends all her free time watching circus videos, jumping on her bed or trying out the gymnastic equipment in her garden, under the watchful eye of her parents. Somewhat out of spite, her parents decided to enroll her in gymnastics classes for children, to help her develop her skills and physical strength.
