FROM THE EMPEROR NAPOLEON III. Large varnished blackened wood box, decorated on the lid, in the corners with four imperial bee motifs and in the center with the number "N" under an imperial crown, in chased and gilded bronze in half-round. Sheathed in shaped green felt, with one storage compartment. It contains : -A pair of dueling percussion pistols. Rifled, damascus, bronzed barrels, signed on the upper sides "Fni GASTINNE RENETTE A PARIS". Breechblocks and barrels numbered "1" and "2". Front plates and hammers engraved with foliage scrolls. Finger rests and gray tempered caps engraved with foliage. Blued trigger tails. Carved walnut stocks adorned with gold thumb pieces engraved with the numeral "N" under an imperial crown. Length: 39 cm. And accessories: Mallet, screwdriver, jet-cut bullet mold, lead ladle, chimney cleaner, nickel-plated powder flask, oiler, turned ebony capsule box, cleaning and tamping rods. Box: 49 x 30 x Ht 8 cm. With its lyre-shaped key (missing lockset). B.E. Circa 1850-1860.
