ARTILLERY OFFICER'S SABER OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD. Handle covered with chagrin. Gilded brass mounting, three-pronged guard decorated with laurel leaves, two shuttle-shaped auricles with interlocking barrels, those on the obverse marked "N" with thunders. Curved blade with double hollow sides, arched back and counter-edge, engraved, gilded and blued in thirds. Sheet-iron scabbard with two brass bracelets with interlocking barrels. Asymmetrical iron sting. A.B.E. Manufactured after the 1st Empire. Presented with a green "cul de dé" passementerie strap (damaged).
