FRANCE ORDER OF THE LEGION OF HONOR Gold eagle of the 3rd type of Marshal Ney. In gold and enamel. On the obverse, "Napoléon EMP. des Français" (slight indentation) and, on the reverse, "Honneur et Patrie". Fluted ring. Marked with a cock 1809-1819. Long ribbon with flat bouffette. Weight: 19.8 g. Size: 57 x 37 mm. T.T.B. First Empire period (small dent on the obverse of the center, very slight hair and light enamel chips). This golden eagle was also worn by the grand eagles in addition to the grand decoration. As such, it can be seen on portraits of the Marshal by Baron Gérard and Langlois.
