RARE OFFICER'S SABRETACHE FROM THE 9TH REGIMENT OF HUSSARS. Green leather. Patelette covered in scarlet cloth edged with silver passementerie galon cul de dé embroidered with "9me Regt D HUSSARDS" and "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE". The center of the placket is richly embroidered in silk, thread, cannetille and silver sequins with a lictor beam topped by a Phrygian bonnet, surmounted by a radiant sun and enriched at the base with branches of oak leaves. Inside pocket lined with unbleached canvas. 34 x 30 cm. A.B.E. (Minor oxidation and wear to embroidery). Revolutionary period - Consulate.
