Florentine school of the second half of the 16th century Face of Jesus Oil on canvas 48 x 40 cm The work represents an exemplification of Florentine painting in the second half of the 16th century, marked by the neoclassicism of Vasari, the most influential painter of late Tuscan Mannerism. During this period, there was an important pictorial activity in the capital of the Grand Duchy, which we find summarized in the magnificent Studiolo di Francesco I in the Palazzo Vecchio. In this small, secluded room are gathered the works of the most illustrious Florentine painters who, supervised by Giorgio Vasari and his disciple Giovan Battista Adriani, contributed to the decoration, citing: Alessandro Allori, Andrea del Minga, Domenico Buti, Giovanni Maria Butteri, Vittore Casini, Mirabello Cavalori, Jacopo Coppi, Alessandro Fei, Maso da San Friano, Santi di Tito, the Vasari and others.
