The daughter of Giuseppe Recco, Elena followed her father's pictorial examples, preferring still lifes having fish as their subject. She worked in Naples until 1695, and after that date she was in Madrid, where reports of her works remain in the inventories of the Buen Retiro. His works are in the Puskin Museum in Moscow, the Warsaw Museum, and the City Art Gallery in Leeds.
