Cratère à colonettes

decorated on side A with a red-figure painting of a maenad playing the plectrum between two dancing satyrs. The lip and neck are adorned with fine flower buds. The painting is framed by tongues, dots and wolf's teeth. On side B, three men in long coats seem to be talking. One of them is reaching out to the others. Orange terracotta with black glaze. Earthy deposits Magna Graecia, 4th century B.C. H: 37 cm Provenance: De La Maisonneuve family collection since the late 19th century, then through the Chavanne De Dalmatie estate.
