Iron Cross 1914 1st class, Silver with iron core, 42,5 x 42,5 mm, weight 18,2 gr, on the pin maker's mark "G", in the original case with gold embossing and original cardboard box of the General - Order - Commission (70 x 70 mm), with "Vorläufiger Ausweis" (certificate of ownership) for the first lieutenant and adjutant in the Jäger - Battalion 9 dated 27. December 1916 (in the field) with original signature of Colonel Hans Brendel (1887 - 1945) (32 x 21 cm), award copy, all in very good condition with slight traces of use 0670 Otto Wilhelm Butze was born in Arolsen in 1891 as the son of the Royal Prussian Privy Government Councillor Johann Franz Wilhelm Butze, he received his officer's commission in 1912 in the Lauenburg Jäger Battalion 9 and became Captain and Commander of Infantry Regiment 78 in 1922, on the staff of the 6th Army Corps in Münster.
