Glücksburger Pokal "Auf die Treue"

Colorless glass, blown, cut and polished, conical bowl on a jointed, multi-faceted baluster stem, wide disc foot with slightly raised center with tear-off scar, bowl base multi-faceted with frosted edges, the bowl fronted by a large scrollwork cartouche with a symbol of loyalty in the form of two clasping hands above a cut-out landscape, below the lip the motto "Auff Beständige Freundschafft.", leaf tendril on the foot, h 19.7 cm, Glücksburg 1720/30, good condition, undamaged 0615 Typical product of the Glücksburg ironworks, a comparable goblet with a virtually identical depiction probably by the same hand in Moritzburg Castle, inv. no. 37211, cf.No. 37211, cf.: Gisela Haase 1988, Sächsisches Glas, p. 359, no. 259, the unusual contouring of the facets in matt cut seems to be a peculiarity of this hut and is apparently only found on glasses of this provenance, cf: Brigitte Klesse 1973, Glass Collection Helfried Krug, vol.
